How to Draw a Robot Unicorn
Draw a robot unicorn in 14 easy steps, about 11 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: box head.
Step 1: Box head
Near the top left, draw a boxy head with soft corners and a long block nose poking left.
Tip Leave lots of room on the right for the body.
Step 2: Eye and smile
On the head, draw a big round eye with a black dot. Add a nostril and a smile.
Tip Only one eye: we see the unicorn from the side.
Step 3: Metal horn
On the forehead, draw a flat plate with a tall cone horn on it. Add a pointed ear behind.
Tip Draw 2 curved lines across the horn.
Step 4: The neck
Start behind the ear, curve the neck's back line down and stop. From under the cheek, draw the front down.
Tip The neck is thick. Stop both lines about halfway down the paper.
Step 5: Flat back
Carry on from the neck's back line. Draw a long flat back, turn the corner and stop lower down.
Tip Keep the corner soft, not pointed.
Step 6: Front leg
Draw a ground line. From the chest, draw a leg down to a block hoof, then back up.
Tip The leg gets thinner below the knee.
Step 7: Tummy and back leg
From the front leg, draw the tummy. Then a wide thigh down to a hoof and up to the back.
Tip The back leg bends halfway down.
Step 8: Far legs
Behind each leg, draw another leg peeking out, with its hoof on the ground.
Tip Only draw the part you can see.
Step 9: Hooves and bolts
Draw a line across the top of each hoof. Draw a round bolt on the knee of each near leg.
Step 10: Robot panels
Draw a rounded screen on the body. Start on the neck's back, draw 2 rings across, stop on its front.
Tip Add a curved line behind the nose, from the face down to the jaw.
Step 11: Mane and tail
Draw 3 cable loops down the neck. Start on the back corner, wiggle a spring up, stop at a ball.
Tip Each loop starts where the last one stopped.
Step 12: Yellow and blue
Colour the horn yellow and the screen sky blue. Leave the eye white.
Step 13: Pink and dark grey
Colour the mane loops and the tail ball pink. Colour the nose block and the 4 hooves dark grey.
Step 14: Grey metal
Go over your lines. Colour the head, ear, horn plate, neck, body and legs light grey.
