How to Draw a Crocodile
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: long head.
Step 1: Long head
Start at the mouth corner. Draw a mouth line left, round the nose, back over the dome to the start.
Tip Long and low like a plank. Dot a nostril.
Step 2: Lower jaw
Start under the back of the head. Draw a small chin, then a thin jaw forward up to the mouth.
Step 3: Pointy teeth
Start at the mouth corner. Draw 6 little triangle teeth hanging from the mouth line, and stop behind the nose.
Step 4: Periscope eyes
On the dome draw a big circle poking up above the head. Draw a smaller one behind, a little higher.
Tip Add a black dot and shine in each. Rub out the head line inside.
Step 5: Bumpy back and tail
Start behind the eyes. Draw 5 hills along the back, 4 smaller down the tail, ending in a low point.
Step 6: The tummy
Start behind the chin. Draw one long low tummy curve, then along under the tail to meet the point.
Step 7: Front leg
Start on the chest. Draw a short bent leg to a plump 3-toed foot, and back up to the tummy.
Tip Rub out the tummy line inside the leg.
Step 8: Back leg
Start on the tummy under the hip. Draw a round thigh bending down to a plump 3-toed foot, and back.
Step 9: Far legs
Start on the tummy behind each near leg. Draw a short curve down to a small heel on the ground.
Step 10: The ground
Start at the left side of the paper. Draw one long line under all the feet across to the right.
Tip The feet sit right on it. The tail tip stays just above it.
Step 11: Leaf green, cream jaw
Colour the head, body, tail and near legs leaf green, around the hills. Colour the jaw cream, around the teeth.
Tip Go over your lines first. Keep the eyes and teeth white.
Step 12: Dark green bumps
Colour every hill on the back and tail darker green, and the 2 far legs.
