How to Draw a Tulip
Draw a tulip in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the cup.
Step 1: The cup
Near the top, start on the left. Draw a big U down and back up to the right.
Tip As big as an orange. Leave the top open for the petals.
Step 2: Eyes, cheeks, smile
Draw 2 big eyes and 2 cheek ovals. Start under one eye, draw a wide smile, stop under the other.
Step 3: Three petal tips
Start at the top left of the cup. Zigzag across the top with 3 points. Stop at the top right.
Tip The middle point is the tallest, like a crown.
Step 4: Petal folds
From the bottom of each dip, draw a short line curving down onto the cup. Stop well above the eyes.
Step 5: The stem
Start on the bottom of the cup. Draw 2 curving lines down that spread a little. Stop near the bottom.
Step 6: Two blade leaves
Start low on the stem. Draw a long blade up to a point and back to the stem. Do both.
Step 7: Leaf veins
Start at the bottom of each leaf. Draw one curved vein up the middle, stopping short of the tip.
Step 8: The ground
Start near the left edge. Draw a sagging line across the bottom of the stem. Stop near the right edge.
Step 9: Grass
Under each leaf tip, start on the ground line and flick 2 little grass blades up.
Step 10: Pink cheeks, red petals
Colour the cheeks pink, then the cup and petal tips red around them. Leave the eyes white.
Step 11: Green stem and leaves
Colour the stem and both leaves green.
