How to Draw a Tree Stump
Draw a tree stump in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the cut top.
Step 1: The cut top
A little above the middle draw a wide flat oval, as wide as your hand, for the cut top.
Step 2: The sides and roots
Start at the oval's left end. Draw the side down, flaring out into a root. Same on the right.
Step 3: Tree rings
Inside the oval draw 3 smaller ovals, one inside the other, for the tree rings.
Step 4: Bark lines
Down the sides of the stump draw 4 gently curved bark lines, from below the oval down to the roots.
Step 5: A crack
From the front of the oval draw a short crooked crack running down the stump.
Step 6: The ground
Near the left edge draw a ground line across to near the right edge, under the roots.
Step 7: 2 mushrooms
Past each root, start on the ground, draw a stem and cap, back to the ground. Close the cap underneath.
Step 8: Tan top
Colour the cut top tan.
Step 9: Wood-brown sides
Colour the sides and roots of the stump wood brown.
Step 10: Red caps
Colour the mushroom caps red and leave the stems white. Go over your lines and your stump is done!
