How to Draw an Alyssum
Draw an alyssum in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the stem.
Step 1: The stem
From the bottom middle, draw a thin stem straight up to just above halfway, getting thinner as it goes.
Step 2: First flower
On top of the stem draw a tiny flower: 4 round petals around a dot middle.
Tip Alyssum flowers are tiny, and each one has just 4 petals.
Step 3: Three more flowers
Draw the same flower just above the first one, and one at each side of the gap between them.
Step 4: A round bunch
Add 3 more flowers over the top, so 6 flowers sit in a ring around the middle one.
Step 5: Side stalks
Start low on the stem. Draw a thin stalk curving out and up on each side, stopping level with the stem top.
Step 6: Side flowers
On the end of each side stalk draw 2 tiny flowers side by side, the outside one a bit higher.
Step 7: Narrow leaves
On each side of the stem draw 2 thin pointed leaves, one low and one higher.
Step 8: Ground and grass
Draw a ground line from near the left edge to near the right. Flick up a grass blade each side of the stem.
Step 9: Yellow middles
Colour the tiny middle circle of every flower yellow.
Step 10: Purple flowers
Colour all the petals purple, around the yellow middles.
Step 11: Green stem and leaves
Colour the stem and the 4 leaves leaf green. Go over your lines and your alyssum is done!
