How to Draw a Handprint Flower
Draw a handprint flower in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the flower head.
Step 1: The flower head
Above the middle of your paper draw a fat egg with a flat top, bulging a little top left.
Tip This is a handprint: the palm is the middle, the fingers are the petals.
Step 2: A happy face
On the flower's middle draw 2 round eyes close together with black dots, and a small U smile.
Step 3: The tall petal
From the top of the middle draw a tall petal up, round the tip, and back down to the line.
Step 4: Two more petals
Draw a shorter petal each side of the tall one, each from the middle's line and back to it.
Step 5: The little petal
On the far right draw the shortest petal, leaning out a bit, from the line and back down to it.
Step 6: The thumb petal
From the top of the left bulge draw a fat thumb petal leaning out left, back down to the bulge.
Step 7: The stem
From under the middle draw a gently curving stem, fatter lower down, stopping well above the page bottom.
Step 8: Two leaves
Draw a leaf each side of the stem, from the stem out to a point and back, one higher.
Step 9: The pot and ground
Round the stem's bottom draw a flower pot: a wide rim with a narrower pot under. Add a ground line.
Step 10: Yellow middle, pink petals
Colour the flower's middle yellow, leaving the eyes white, and colour the five petals pink.
Step 11: Green stem and leaves
Colour the stem and the two leaves leaf green.
Step 12: Orange pot
Colour the pot and its rim orange. Go over your lines and your handprint flower is done!
