How to Draw a Treadmill

13 steps · Medium · about 10 min

Draw a treadmill in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: console screen.

Print

  1. Step 1: Console screen

In the top right draw a box with soft corners, wider than tall, for the console screen.

  2. Step 2: 2 big eyes

On the screen draw 2 big egg eyes, one eye apart. Colour a black dot in each, leaving a shine.

  3. Step 3: Smile and cheeks

Under the eyes draw a wide U smile, eye to eye, and a small flat oval cheek beside each eye.

  4. Step 4: The upright

From under the screen draw 1 post slanting down to the left, fatter at the bottom. Stop above the ground.

  5. Step 5: Belt deck

Along the ground draw a long low deck with rounded ends, from the left across to under the screen.

  6. Step 6: Motor hood

At the right end of the deck draw a rounded hump, like a low hill, for the motor hood.

  7. Step 7: The handrail

From the post under the screen draw a level handrail out to the left, ending in a rounded grip.

  8. Step 8: Belt stripes

Draw 5 short slanted lines across the belt, spaced apart, stopping well before the hood.

  9. Step 9: Ground line

Draw a straight ground line under the deck, from near the left edge across to near the right edge.

  10. Step 10: Sparkles

Draw a few little 4-point sparkles around it to make it shine.

  11. Step 11: Pink cheeks, sky screen

Go over your lines. Colour the cheeks pink, then the screen sky blue around the face, leaving the eyes white.

  12. Step 12: Yellow sparkles, red hood

Colour the sparkles yellow and the motor hood red.

  13. Step 13: Slate machine

Colour the deck, the post and the handrail slate grey. Your treadmill is ready to run!
