How to Draw an Eyeliner
Draw an eyeliner in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the eye.
Step 1: The eye
Near the top, draw a big almond eye, pointed at both ends. Make the right point a little higher.
Tip Make it wide: more than half as wide as your paper.
Step 2: The iris
Inside the eye, draw a big circle that nearly reaches the top and the bottom.
Step 3: Pupil and shine
In the middle of the circle, draw a smaller circle. Add a little shine circle at its top left.
Step 4: Winged line
From the left point, draw a line over the eye. Flick up past the right point, then back to it.
Tip This is the wing, the bold line eyeliner makes. It gets fatter towards the flick.
Step 5: The pen
Under the eye, draw a long slim pen sloping up to the right, with a round top end.
Tip Keep the 2 long sides the same distance apart all the way.
Step 6: The collar
From the pen's low end, draw a short collar that narrows down to a small flat end.
Step 7: Brush tip
From the collar's end, draw a thin brush tip out to a sharp point.
Tip The fine point is what draws the thin black line.
Step 8: The cap
Past the tip, in line with the pen, draw a slim cap with an oval opening facing the tip.
Tip The cap is just as wide as the pen, so it slides over the tip.
Step 9: Bands
Draw 1 band line across the cap and 2 band lines across the pen.
Step 10: Sparkles
Draw 3 small sparkle stars around the eye and the pen.
Step 11: Blue and yellow
Colour the big circle blue around the small one. Colour the collar and sparkles yellow. Leave the eye white.
Step 12: Pink pen
Colour the pen and its cap pink.
Step 13: Black liner
Colour the winged line, the small circle, the brush tip and the cap opening black. Leave the shine white.
