How to Draw a Broken Glass
Draw a broken glass in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the sheet of glass.
Step 1: The sheet of glass
Draw a big square for the sheet of glass, filling most of your paper.
Tip Use a ruler if you like, so the 4 sides are straight.
Step 2: The jagged hole
In the middle draw a spiky star with 8 uneven points. This is the hole where the glass broke.
Tip Make some points long and some short.
Step 3: Cracks to the top
From the 2 top points of the star draw 2 straight cracks up to the top edge.
Tip Glass cracks are straight lines, never curvy.
Step 4: Cracks to the bottom
From the 2 bottom points of the star draw 2 straight cracks down to the bottom edge.
Step 5: Cracks to the left
From the 2 left points of the star draw 2 straight cracks out to the left edge.
Step 6: Cracks to the right
From the 2 right points of the star draw 2 straight cracks out to the right edge.
Step 7: Short cracks
In the top, bottom, left and right pieces draw a short straight line near the hole, from crack to crack.
Tip Tilt each line a different way, so it looks smashed and not like a web.
Step 8: Outer cracks
In the 4 corner pieces draw a longer straight line further out, from crack to crack.
Step 9: Sky blue glass
Colour all the glass sky blue, around the hole.
Step 10: The dark hole
Colour the hole dark grey. Go over your lines. Your broken glass is done!

Your finished drawing
Follow the steps above and this is where you end up: a broken glass, drawn by you.
