How to Draw a Microscope
Draw a microscope in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: foot and table.
Step 1: Foot and table
Near the bottom draw a long flat pill: the foot. Draw a table line under it, well past both ends.
Step 2: The arm
Start on the foot, right of middle. Draw a fat arm curving up like a thick question mark, leaning left.
Step 3: The tube
From the top of the arm draw a fat tube leaning down to the right, about a thumb wide.
Step 4: The eyepiece
On the top end of the tube draw a shorter, thinner tube poking up the same way: the eyepiece.
Step 5: The lens nose
On the bottom end of the tube draw a short, thin tube poking down: the nose with the lens.
Step 6: The stage
Under the nose, a little below its tip, draw a thick flat bar across to the arm: the stage.
Step 7: The focus knob
On the arm, a little above the stage, draw a round knob.
Step 8: The slide
On the stage, right under the nose tip, draw a short flat bar: the glass slide.
Step 9: Gold knob, blue slide
Go over your lines. Colour the knob yellow and the slide sky blue.
Step 10: Grey stage, slate arm
Colour the eyepiece and the stage grey, and the arm and foot slate grey, around the knob.
Step 11: Navy tube
Colour the tube and the nose navy. Your microscope is done!

Your finished drawing
Follow the steps above and this is where you end up: a microscope, drawn by you.
