How to Draw a Level
Draw a level in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the bar.
Step 1: The bar
Just below the middle draw a very long rounded box lying flat, nearly edge to edge and a thumb tall.
Step 2: End caps
Draw a line down across each end of the bar, a finger in from the end, for 2 end caps.
Step 3: Two big eyes
On the left of the bar draw 2 big egg eyes. Colour a black dot in each, with a shine.
Step 4: Smile and cheeks
Under the eyes draw a U smile from one eye to the other. Add a flat cheek beside each end.
Step 5: The window
Right of the middle draw a rounded window about as long as 3 eyes. This is the glass tube.
Step 6: The bubble
Inside the window draw 2 lines straight down, close together in the middle. Draw a flat oval bubble between them.
Tip When the bubble sits between the lines, the level is flat!
Step 7: Little window
Near the right end draw a small tall window standing up, with a tiny bubble at the top.
Step 8: Shine
Inside the big window, draw a short curve in the top left corner for a shine on the glass.
Step 9: Sparkles, table and shadow
Add 3 sparkles above the level. Draw a table line past both ends, with a thin shadow under the bar.
Step 10: Cream windows, pink cheeks
Go over your lines, then colour the 2 windows cream and the cheeks pink, leaving the bubbles white.
Step 11: Yellow bar and sparkles
Colour the bar and the sparkles yellow, going around the windows, cheeks and eyes. Leave the eyes white.
Step 12: Grey shadow, slate caps
Colour the shadow grey and the 2 end caps dark slate, and your level is perfectly flat!
