How to Draw a Trapezoid

10 steps · Medium · about 8 min

Draw a trapezoid in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the trapezoid.

Print

  1. Step 1: The trapezoid

Near the middle, draw a flat top line. Slant down and out from each end to a wider flat bottom.

  2. Step 2: Two big eyes

In the middle of the trapezoid, draw 2 big egg eyes side by side with a black dot in each.

  3. Step 3: Big smile

Under the eyes, draw a big wide U smile from under the left eye to under the right eye.

  4. Step 4: Rosy cheeks

Below and just outside each end of the smile, draw a small sideways oval for a rosy cheek.

  5. Step 5: Shape friends

Around the trapezoid, draw 3 little friends: a circle top left, a triangle top right, a square on the right.

  6. Step 6: The ground

Along the trapezoid's bottom, draw a long ground line from past the left corner to past the right.

  7. Step 7: Grass tufts

Near each end of the ground line, draw 3 short grass blades fanning up from the line.

  8. Step 8: Pink cheeks, yellow triangle

Colour the 2 cheeks pink and the little triangle yellow.

  9. Step 9: Blue circle, red square

Colour the little circle blue and the little square red.

  10. Step 10: Purple trapezoid

Colour the trapezoid purple around the cheeks. Leave the eyes white. Go over your lines and your trapezoid is done!
