How to Draw a Trapeze

11 steps · Medium · about 8 min

Draw a trapeze in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: top beam.

Print

  1. Step 1: Top beam

Near the top draw a long flat beam across, leaving a little space at each end.

  2. Step 2: Two rings

Under the beam draw 2 small rings, one near each end.

Tip Each ring touches the beam.

  3. Step 3: Two long ropes

From each ring draw a long thin rope straight down. Stop a bit past the middle.

Tip Keep both ropes the same length.

  4. Step 4: Rope pads

At the end of each rope draw a fat soft pad, like a long sausage.

  5. Step 5: The bar

Join the 2 pad bottoms with a long thin bar with round ends, poking out past each pad.

Tip This is the bar an acrobat holds.

  6. Step 6: End caps

Near each end of the bar draw a short line from the top edge down to the bottom edge.

  7. Step 7: Sparkle stars

Beside the ropes draw 3 sparkle stars with 4 points each: 2 on the left, 1 on the right.

  8. Step 8: Yellow bar and stars

Colour the long bar and the 3 stars yellow.

  9. Step 9: Tan ropes

Colour the 2 long ropes light brown.

  10. Step 10: Red pads and caps

Colour the 2 rope pads and the 2 end caps of the bar red.

  11. Step 11: Grey beam

Go over your lines, then colour the top beam dark grey. Your trapeze is ready!
