How to Draw a Traffic Light
Draw a traffic light in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the tall box.
Step 1: The tall box
Near the top of your paper draw a tall, narrow box with rounded corners.
Tip Make it about twice as tall as it is wide.
Step 2: The red light
Near the top of the box draw a big round circle, about half as wide as the box.
Step 3: Two more lights
Under it draw 2 more circles the same size, evenly spaced, so the 3 lights fill the box.
Step 4: The tall pole
Start on the bottom of the box and draw 2 pole lines straight down, stopping above the paper's bottom.
Tip Make the pole nearly as tall as the box.
Step 5: The base
Under the pole draw a short, wide base: a flat top, 2 slanted sides and a flat bottom.
Step 6: The ground
Draw the ground line from each side of the base out to the edge. Add 2 small grass tufts.
Step 7: A cloud
High on the right draw a puffy cloud: 4 bumps over the top and 2 shallow bumps underneath.
Step 8: Yellow and red lights
Go over your lines. Colour the middle light yellow and the top light red, and leave the cloud white.
Step 9: Green light
Colour the bottom light green.
Step 10: Slate box and pole
Colour the box, the pole and the base slate grey, going around the 3 lights. Your traffic light is done!
