How to Draw a Traffic Cone

11 steps · Medium · about 8 min

Draw a traffic cone in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: tall cone.

Print

  1. Step 1: Tall cone

Near the top, draw a short flat line. From each end, draw a long line slanting down and out.

  2. Step 2: Curved bottom

Start at the bottom left corner. Draw a smile across and stop at the bottom right corner.

  3. Step 3: Big eyes

A little above the middle, draw 2 big egg eyes. Add a big black dot and a white shine.

  4. Step 4: Smile and cheeks

Under the eyes, draw a U smile. Draw a small oval cheek beside each end.

  5. Step 5: Flat base

Under the cone, draw a wide flat slab sticking out on both sides. Rub out the bit behind the cone.

  6. Step 6: Two white bands

Draw 2 lines across the cone above the eyes, a thumb apart. Draw 2 more under the smile.

  7. Step 7: Road line

Start at the left edge, under the base. Draw a straight road line across to the right edge.

  8. Step 8: Sparkles

Draw a sparkle star on each side of the cone, like it is shiny and new.

  9. Step 9: Yellow and orange

Colour the sparkles yellow and the cone orange, leaving the 2 bands, the eyes and the cheeks white.

  10. Step 10: Red cheeks

    Colour the cheeks red.

  11. Step 11: Grey base

Colour the base grey. Go over your lines and your traffic cone is ready!
