How to Draw a Toy Shop

14 steps · Medium · about 11 min

Draw a toy shop in 14 easy steps, about 11 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: ledge and awning.

Print

  1. Step 1: Ledge and awning

Draw a long thin roof ledge. Under it draw a wide awning, with wavy bumps along its bottom edge.

Tip The awning gets a little wider at the bottom.

  2. Step 2: Awning stripes

Draw 6 lines down the awning, from the ledge to the dips between the bumps.

  3. Step 3: Walls and ground

From each end of the wavy edge draw a wall line straight down. Join them with a long ground line.

  4. Step 4: The sign board

On top of the ledge draw a big sign board with a gently curved top.

  5. Step 5: The word TOYS

Write TOYS on the sign in big capital letters: a T, an O, a Y and an S.

Tip Space the 4 letters evenly.

  6. Step 6: Window and door

Under the awning draw a big window on the left and a tall door with a knob on the right.

  7. Step 7: A teddy bear

In the window draw a teddy: a round head with 2 ears, a plump body, 2 arms and 2 feet.

Tip He sits on the bottom edge of the window.

  8. Step 8: Teddy's face

Draw an oval snout low on the head. Add 2 dot eyes above it and a black nose on it.

  9. Step 9: A bouncy ball

Next to the teddy draw a round ball on the window's edge. Add 2 curved lines across for a band.

  10. Step 10: A toy train

Draw a train: a tall cab with a window, a low front with a chimney, and 2 round wheels.

  11. Step 11: Cream walls, sky window

Colour the walls cream, round the window and door. Colour the window sky blue around the 3 toys.

  12. Step 12: Yellow sign and snout

Colour the sign yellow around the letters. Colour the teddy's snout, ball's band, train window and door knob yellow too.

  13. Step 13: Red stripes and ball

Colour every other awning stripe red, starting with the first. Colour the rest of the ball and the wheels red.

  14. Step 14: Brown teddy, blue door

Colour the teddy brown around his snout. Colour the train, door and roof ledge blue. Your toy shop is done!
