How to Draw a Surf Shack
Draw a surf shack in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the hut.
Step 1: The hut
In the middle, draw a wide box for the hut standing on the ground.
Step 2: Shaggy roof
Start low on the left. Draw a big peaked roof and stop low on the right. Add a bumpy bottom.
Tip The roof is made of dried palm leaves.
Step 3: Roof lines
Draw 4 slanting lines on the roof, 2 on each side.
Step 4: Counter window
In the middle of the front, draw a wide open window with a flat counter under it.
Step 5: The sign
Under the counter, draw a box sign and write SURF inside it in big letters.
Step 6: The door
On the left of the front, draw a tall narrow door standing on the ground.
Step 7: Surfboards
Lean a long pointed surfboard against each side of the hut. Add a stripe down its middle.
Step 8: Ground and sea
Draw the ground line from edge to edge, behind the hut and boards. Add 2 wavy sea lines below it.
Step 9: Palm tree
Behind the roof on the right, draw a curved trunk with 2 rings. Fan 5 long leaves out from its top.
Step 10: Sun and gull
Draw a sun with short rays in the top left and a little flying gull in the sky.
Step 11: Tan roof, wood hut
Colour the roof tan. Colour the hut and the palm trunk wood brown. Leave the window, sign and door white.
Step 12: Bright boards, blue sea
Colour 1 board red and the other blue. Colour the door blue and the sea blue.
Step 13: Green palm, yellow sun
Colour the palm leaves green and the sun yellow. Go over your lines and your surf shack is done!
