How to Draw a Toy Car
Draw a toy car in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: car body.
Step 1: Car body
Start low on the left. Draw round the nose, over the bonnet and roof, and stop low on the right.
Tip Leave the bottom open for the wheels.
Step 2: Two big tyres
Draw a big round tyre over each bottom corner. Start on one tyre, rule a line, stop on the other.
Step 3: Wheel hubs
Inside each tyre draw a smaller circle. Colour a black dot in the middle of each one.
Step 4: Big window
Under the roof draw a long flat-bottomed window. Split it: start at the top, stop at the bottom.
Step 5: Door
Start under the window split. Draw a line straight down to the bottom of the car. Add an oval handle.
Step 6: Two lights
On the nose draw a round headlight. On the back of the car draw a small oval tail light.
Step 7: Wind-up key
Start on the roof. Draw 2 short lines up, then stop. Top them with 2 round loops, like a bow.
Tip The key is what makes it a toy car.
Step 8: The floor
Start in front of the car. Rule a straight floor line under both tyres, stopping behind the car.
Step 9: Headlight and window
Go over your lines. Colour the headlight orange and the window sky blue.
Step 10: Yellow car
Colour the tail light red. Colour the car body yellow, around the window and lights. Leave the tyres white.
Step 11: Grey and black
Colour the key and the hubs grey. Colour the tyres black, around the hubs. Your toy car is done!
