How to Draw a Mail Truck

Draw a mail truck in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: loaf top.

Step 1: Loaf top
Start low on the left. Go up, over a big round corner, along a flat roof, and stop low right.
Tip An upside-down U almost twice as long as tall, roundest at the front.
Step 2: Floor with wheel bumps
Start at the bottom front. Draw the floor with 2 big rainbow bumps, and stop at the bottom back.
Step 3: Eye and smile
On the front, draw a headlight eye with a dot, and a smile under it as wide as the eye.
Step 4: Tyres and bumper
Under each bump, draw a big round tyre with air round its top. Add a pill bumper at the front.
Tip The tyres are fat, almost half as tall as the van.
Step 5: The big windscreen
A finger inside the front corner, draw a big window that follows the curve, flat under the roof.
Step 6: The door window
A finger behind the windscreen, draw a chunky rounded rectangle, as tall as the windscreen, for the door window.
Tip The rest of the side stays solid: it is full of parcels.
Step 7: The stripe
Start on the back wall, under the windows. Draw a level stripe forward, and stop on the front wall.
Step 8: Door and tail light
From the stripe, draw 2 door lines down to the floor between the bumps. Add a handle and tail light.
Tip The door is the whole panel between the two bumps.
Step 9: Envelope logo
On the back panel, draw a wide soft box envelope with a wide V flap from the top corners.
Step 10: Hubcaps and road
In each tyre, draw a hubcap circle with a middle dot. Draw a long straight road under the tyres.
Step 11: Yellow tail light
Colour the tail light yellow. Leave the envelope, headlight, handle, bumper and hubcaps white, like real post.
Step 12: Cream top, sky windows
Colour the top of the van cream, from the roof down to the stripe. Colour the windows sky blue.
Step 13: Red bottom, black tyres
Colour the truck red from the stripe down, around the envelope and tail light. Colour the tyres black.
