How to Draw an RC Car

13 steps · Medium · about 10 min

Draw an RC car in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: nose, roof and boot.

Print

  1. Step 1: Nose, roof and boot

Start low on the left. Draw 1 bumpy hill: nose, bonnet, roof dome, boot. Stop low on the right.

Tip One smooth stroke: bonnet low, dome high, boot small.

  2. Step 2: The window

From above the bonnet, draw a rainbow window inside the dome, straight back along the bottom to the start.

  3. Step 3: Face in the window

Draw 2 big eyes and a U smile inside the window.

Tip Press harder for the smile so it stays bold when coloured.

  4. Step 4: Belly and arches

From the back, draw 2 rainbow arches with a flat belly between, ending at the nose.

  5. Step 5: Two tyres

Under each arch, draw a big round tyre with a small hub circle in the middle.

  6. Step 6: Headlight and bumper

Draw a big round headlight on the bonnet. From the nose, draw a C bumper back to it.

  7. Step 7: Door and tail light

From the window's back, draw a door line down to the back arch. Add a handle and a tail light.

  8. Step 8: Tall aerial

From the back of the roof, draw a straight aerial leaning up, stopping high up, with a ball on top.

  9. Step 9: The remote control

Beside the car, draw a joystick box with a button. From its top, draw an aerial up to roof height.

Tip Stand the joystick up on a little dome, with its ball on top.

  10. Step 10: Road and signal

Draw a straight road under the car and the remote. Add 2 signal arcs by the aerial ball.

Tip Keep the road just touching the tyres so the car doesn't float.

  11. Step 11: Lights and window

Colour the lights yellow with a white shine, and the window sky blue around the face. Leave the eyes white.

  12. Step 12: Grey bits

Colour the hubs, bumper, door handle and remote grey, around the joystick ball and the button.

  13. Step 13: Red car, black tyres

Colour the car and the button red, then the tyres and 3 balls black, around the coloured parts.
