How to Draw an Ice Cream Truck

Draw an ice cream truck in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: loaf top.

Step 1: Loaf top
Start low left. Draw up the front, over a flat roof and down the back. Stop at the same height.
Tip An upside-down U, twice as long as it is tall.
Step 2: Floor with wheel bumps
Start under the front wall. Draw the floor with 2 big rainbow bumps, stopping under the back wall.
Step 3: Eye, smile and bumper
On the front wall draw a big headlight eye. Under it draw a smile and a pill bumper.
Step 4: Two fat tyres
Under each bump draw a big circle tyre, a little smaller than the bump. Start and stop on the floor.
Step 5: Big windscreen
Just inside the front corner draw a big window that follows the curve, flat under the roof.
Step 6: Door window and hatch
Behind the windscreen draw a rounded door window the same height. Behind it draw a bigger rounded hatch.
Step 7: The stripe
Start a line on the back wall, skip the hatch, dip a little over the headlight, stop on the front.
Step 8: Door and tail light
From the stripe draw 2 door lines straight down to the floor. Add a pill handle and a tail light.
Step 9: Awning and ice cream
Hang a bumpy awning over the hatch. On the roof draw a little stand holding a cone, scoop and cherry.
Step 10: Hubcaps and road
In each tyre draw a smaller circle with a dot. Rule a straight road under the tyres, front to back.
Step 11: Pink bottom and scoop
Colour the truck bottom and the scoop pink, leaving the headlight eye, bumper and handle white.
Step 12: Cream top, sky glass
Colour the truck top and the cone cream. Colour the windows and hatch sky blue, leaving a white shine.
Step 13: Red awning, black tyres
Colour the awning, stand, cherry and tail light red. Colour the tyres black, leaving the hubcaps white.
