How to Draw a Tow Truck Face

Draw a tow truck face in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: cab and bed.

Step 1: Cab and bed
Start low left. Go up over a tall cab, along a level bed rail, and down the back to stop.
Tip The cab is a tall loaf; the bed behind is half as tall.
Step 2: Floor with wheel bumps
From the bottom of the front wall draw the floor with 2 big rainbow bumps, ending at the back wall.
Tip The bumps are big: each nearly a quarter of the truck long.
Step 3: Smile and bumper
Low on the front of the cab draw a big wide smile. Add a pill bumper below.
Step 4: Two fat tyres
Under each bump draw a big circle for a tyre, a little smaller than the bump, hanging below the floor.
Step 5: Windscreen and eyes
A finger in from the front draw a big rounded windscreen. Inside draw 2 big round eyes with a shine.
Step 6: The door window
A finger behind the windscreen draw a chunky rounded rectangle, as tall as the windscreen, for the door window.
Step 7: Seam and tail light
From the cab's back wall draw a line down to the floor. Add a door handle and a tail light.
Tip The seam stops on the floor between the 2 bumps.
Step 8: Boom, hook and beacon
From the bed rail draw a thick bar leaning up to a tip over the back wheel. Hang a hook.
Tip Add a small half-circle beacon on the cab roof.
Step 9: Hubcaps and road
In each tyre draw a smaller circle with a dot. Draw a straight road under the tyres, just touching them.
Step 10: Yellow truck
Go over your lines. Colour the truck yellow, going around the windows, bumper, handle and tail light.
Step 11: Sky windows
Colour the windscreen and the door window sky blue, going around the eyes. Leave the eyes white.
Step 12: Grey, orange and black
Colour the boom grey, the beacon and tail light orange, and the tyres black around the hubcaps.
