How to Draw a Tourist

Draw a tourist in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the head.

Step 1: The head
Near the top, in the middle, draw an egg for the head, a little narrower at the chin.
Tip Leave most of the page below for the body and legs.
Step 2: The face
Draw 2 oval eyes, a tiny nose and a smile. Start a C ear each side, stopping on the head.
Step 3: Sun hat
Start above the left ear. Draw the hat over the top, down to the right. Add a floppy brim below.
Step 4: Neck and flowery shirt
Draw 2 neck lines. From the left, draw a shirt with short sleeves, stopping at the right. Add 2 flowers.
Step 5: Camera on a strap
Draw a camera box with a lens on the chest. Draw a strap from each shoulder down to the camera.
Step 6: Arms
From each sleeve, draw 2 lines down for the arm, stopping at the wrist. Make it narrower at the wrist.
Step 7: Mitten hands
Under each arm, draw a mitten hand like the end of an egg, with a little thumb pointing in.
Step 8: Shorts
Start at the shirt's bottom left. Draw shorts with a point between the legs, stopping at the bottom right.
Step 9: Legs
Under each leg of the shorts, start on the shorts and draw 2 long lines down, stopping above the bottom.
Step 10: Sandals and ground
Under each leg, draw a sandal, toe pointing out: round heel, flat sole, longer toe. Add a ground line.
Step 11: Peach skin, pink cheeks
Go over your lines. Colour the face, ears, neck, arms, hands and legs peach, with pink cheeks.
Tip Leave the eyes white.
Step 12: Yellow flowers, sky shorts
Colour the flowers yellow and the shorts sky blue.
Step 13: Shirt, sandals, camera
Colour the shirt red around the flowers and camera. Colour the sandals brown and the camera black.
Tip Leave the lens and hat white.
