How to Draw a Gardener
Draw a gardener in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the head.
Step 1: The head
Near the top, in the middle, draw an egg for the head, a little narrower at the chin.
Tip Leave room on the left for the trowel and lots of room below.
Step 2: The face
Draw 2 eyes, a nose and a smile. Add a C ear each side, starting and ending on the head.
Step 3: Straw hat
Draw a long flat brim above the eyes. From its left, draw a crown up and over to its right.
Step 4: Neck and T-shirt
Draw 2 short neck lines. From their ends, draw a T-shirt with a round neckline and the left sleeve up.
Step 5: Garden apron
Draw a long apron from the chest down. Add a pocket and 2 straps from the shoulders to its corners.
Step 6: Arms
From each sleeve, draw an arm getting thinner. Bend one up to ear height and hang the other down.
Step 7: Fists
On the raised wrist, draw a round fist with a thumb bump. Draw another fist hanging on the right wrist.
Step 8: Trowel
From the raised fist, draw 2 short handle lines up to a pointed leaf blade as high as the hat.
Step 9: Trousers and boots
Start at the left hem. Draw 2 trouser legs, stopping at the right hem. Add boots and a ground line.
Step 10: Yellow hat, pink cheeks
Colour the hat yellow and 2 pink cheeks.
Step 11: Peach skin, grey trowel
Colour the face, ears, neck, arms and fists peach, around the cheeks. Colour the trowel grey.
Tip Leave the eyes white.
Step 12: Green apron, red shirt
Colour the apron and straps green, then the shirt red, around the apron.
Step 13: Brown trousers, dark boots
Colour the trousers brown and the boots dark grey. Go over your lines and you are done.
