How to Draw a Nun
Draw a nun in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the head.
Step 1: The head
Near the top of your paper draw an egg for the head, a little narrower at the chin.
Tip Leave room above for the veil and most of the page below for the long robe.
Step 2: The face
Draw 2 round eyes with black dots, a tiny U nose and a smile.
Step 3: White band
Draw a rainbow curve across the forehead. From its ends draw a big arch over the top of the head.
Step 4: The wimple
Start at one end of the band. Draw a big U round the cheeks and chin to the other end.
Tip The wimple is the white cloth round a nun's face.
Step 5: Round collar
From each side of the wimple draw a big round collar over the chest, like a bib.
Step 6: Shoulders and robe
From the collar draw 2 round shoulders. From under them draw a long robe down to a flat hem.
Tip Leave a gap at each shoulder for the sleeves.
Step 7: The veil
Start on the left shoulder. Draw a tall arch up over the head and stop on the right shoulder.
Step 8: Long sleeves
From each shoulder and armpit draw a line down to the wrist, bending a little at the elbow.
Step 9: Mitten hands
At the bottom of each sleeve draw a mitten like the bottom of an egg, with a thumb pointing in.
Step 10: The cross
In the middle of the collar draw a small cross, taller than it is wide.
Step 11: Shoes and ground
Under the hem draw 2 shoes peeking out, toes pointing out. Add a ground line under them.
Step 12: Peach skin, pink cheeks
Colour the face and hands peach and the cheeks pink. Leave the eyes, band, wimple and collar white.
Step 13: Yellow cross, grey robe
Colour the cross yellow. Colour the veil, robe and sleeves dark grey and the shoes black. Go over your lines.
