How to Draw an Inventor
Draw an inventor in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the head.
Step 1: The head
Near the top of your paper, draw an egg for the head. The chin end is a little narrower.
Tip Leave most of the page below for the body and legs.
Step 2: The face
Draw 2 small oval eyes with a shine. Add a tiny U nose and a big smile.
Step 3: Wild hair
Start on the left side of the head. Draw big wild tufts over the top and stop on the right.
Step 4: Goggles
Across the forehead draw a strap from side to side. Add 2 round lenses in the middle.
Step 5: Neck and shirt
Draw 2 neck lines. From them draw round shoulders and a shirt down to the waist, leaving 2 arm gaps.
Step 6: Vest and bow tie
Over the shirt draw a vest, open down the middle. Under the chin draw a bow tie.
Step 7: Long sleeves
From each shoulder draw a long sleeve down to the wrist. Bend the left one across the vest.
Step 8: Mitten hands
On the right draw a mitten hanging down. On the left draw a mitten pointing in.
Step 9: Gadget and antenna
In the left hand draw a box with a dial. Start on top, draw a line up to a ball.
Step 10: Trousers and shoes
Start under the left arm. Draw 2 trouser legs to the hem's right end. Add shoes and a ground line.
Step 11: Peach skin, pink cheeks
Colour the face, neck and hands peach, with a pink circle on each cheek. Leave the eyes white.
Step 12: Grey goggles, ginger hair
Colour the goggles, gadget and trousers grey, and the hair and ball ginger. Leave the shirt and dial white.
Step 13: Purple tie, brown vest
Colour the bow tie purple, the vest brown around the gadget and hand, and the shoes black.
