How to Draw Tongs
Draw tongs in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the spring loop.
Step 1: The spring loop
Near the top draw a small upside-down U from left round to right. Draw a tiny one just inside.
Step 2: Two arms
From the 4 ends of the U lines draw 4 long straight lines down and apart. Stop below the middle.
Tip Tongs are one long strip of metal, bent round at the top.
Step 3: Gripper heads
At the bottom of each arm draw a wide scoop that curls in, with a bumpy inside edge.
Step 4: A tomato
Between the heads draw a plump round tomato with a dip on top, its sides behind the heads.
Step 5: Five leaves
On top of the tomato, over the dip, draw 5 fat round leaves spreading out like a star.
Step 6: The stalk
From the middle of the leaves draw a short thick stalk sticking up.
Step 7: A shine
On the tomato, below the leaves on the left, draw a thin slanted oval for a shine.
Step 8: The ground
Draw a long ground line from left to right, just under the tomato, out past both heads.
Step 9: Grey tongs
Go over your lines, then colour the loop, the arms and both heads grey.
Step 10: Green leaves
Colour the 5 leaves and the stalk green.
Step 11: Red tomato
Colour the tomato red, around the leaves and the heads. Leave the shine white.
