How to Draw a Japan Flag
Draw a japan flag in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the flag pole.
Step 1: The flag pole
On the left draw a tall thin pole from near the bottom to near the top.
Step 2: Ball on top
Put a small round ball on the very top of the pole.
Step 3: Top and side
Start on the pole below the ball. Draw a wavy line right, then straight down. Stop just past halfway down.
Tip Make the flag wide: it is one and a half times as long as it is tall.
Step 4: Bottom edge
Start at the bottom of the straight side. Draw a wavy line back to the pole.
Tip The bottom edge copies the waves of the top edge.
Step 5: A light cross
Lightly draw a small cross in the very middle of the flag.
Tip Press softly. You will rub the cross out soon.
Step 6: The big circle
Draw one big round circle around the cross. Leave a wide gap above it and below it.
Tip Go slowly and turn your paper as you draw. No flat bits and no corners.
Step 7: Ground line
Rub out the cross. Draw a long flat ground line under the pole, from left to right.
Step 8: Yellow ball
Colour the ball on top of the pole yellow.
Step 9: Grey pole
Colour the pole grey.
Step 10: Red circle
Colour the circle red and leave the rest of the flag white. Go over your lines.
Tip Your Japan flag is waving!
