How to Draw a Toy Brick House
Draw a toy brick house in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the wall.
Step 1: The wall
In the lower half of your paper draw a big wide rectangle. This is the front wall.
Tip Use a ruler if you like. Leave room above for the roof.
Step 2: First roof row
On top of the wall draw a long flat row. Let it stick out past the wall on both sides.
Step 3: Stepped roof
On top draw 3 more rows, each one shorter than the row below, like steps going up.
Tip Each row steps in by the same amount on both sides.
Step 4: Door and window
Draw a tall door on the left with a knob. Draw a square window on the right with a cross.
Tip The door stands on the bottom line of the wall.
Step 5: Brick rows
Rule 3 lines from the left edge of the wall across to the right edge. Skip the door and window.
Tip The top line runs along the top of the door and the window.
Step 6: Wall brick ends
On the wall draw 6 short upright lines, each from one row line down to the next.
Tip Never put one brick end right under another.
Step 7: Roof brick ends
On the roof draw 6 more, each from one line down to the next: 3, then 2, then 1.
Step 8: Studs on top
On the top row draw 2 little bumps with round corners. These are the studs.
Step 9: Studs on the steps
On each roof step draw 2 more studs. Do the same on both sides.
Step 10: Base plate
Under the house draw a long thin plate. Add 2 studs on each end and a ground line.
Tip The plate is a little wider than the roof.
Step 11: Yellow door, blue window
Go over your lines. Colour the door yellow and the window light blue.
Step 12: Red wall
Colour the wall red, around the door and the window.
Step 13: Blue roof, green plate
Colour the roof and its studs blue. Colour the base plate and its studs green.
