How to Draw a Wax Seal
Draw a wax seal in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: wobbly top edge.
Step 1: Wobbly top edge
Start halfway down on the left. Draw a wide wobbly hill of soft bumps. Stop halfway down on the right.
Tip Wax squashes out in soft waves. Keep them low and round.
Step 2: Wobbly bottom edge
Start at the right end. Draw more soft bumps round underneath. Stop at the left end.
Tip Keep the whole shape round, like a wobbly circle.
Step 3: The pressed ring
In the middle draw a big circle, leaving a wide rim of wax all round.
Step 4: Inner ring
Just inside, draw a second circle close to the first one.
Step 5: The star
In the very middle draw a star with 5 points, one point straight up.
Tip Draw it lightly first: all 5 points are the same length.
Step 6: Shiny marks
On the top left of the rim draw a long curved shine and a short one beside it.
Step 7: Yellow star
Colour the star yellow.
Step 8: Red middle
Colour the middle circle red, around the star.
Step 9: Red wax rim
Colour the wobbly rim red too, leaving the 2 shiny marks white.
Step 10: Dark groove
Go over your lines. Colour the thin ring between the 2 circles brown, and you are done!
