How to Draw an Ohio Flag
Draw an ohio flag in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the flag pole.
Step 1: The flag pole
On the left draw a tall thin pole from near the bottom to near the top. Add a ball.
Step 2: The swallowtail flag
From the pole draw 2 long edges that lean together. Join their ends with a V cut into the flag.
Tip The V makes 2 tails, like a swallow's tail. No other state flag has this shape.
Step 3: The triangle
Start at the flag's top corner on the pole. Draw to a point, then back to the bottom corner.
Tip The point sits level with the V, a little past halfway to it.
Step 4: The big O
In the triangle, nearer the pole, draw a circle. Draw a smaller circle inside it to make an O.
Tip Leave room all round the O for the stars.
Step 5: Four stripe lines
Draw 4 stripe lines. Start on the triangle, stop at the V: 2 beside the edges, 2 in the middle.
Tip The 2 middle lines stay close together and end on the V.
Step 6: Five stars
Between the O and the pole draw 5 small stars that curve round the O.
Step 7: Four more stars
Draw 2 stars above the O and 2 below it. Now 9 stars curve round the O.
Step 8: Corner stars
Draw 2 stars in the top corner by the pole and 2 in the bottom corner.
Step 9: Stars in the point
Right of the O draw 4 stars towards the point: 1, then 2, then 1.
Tip Count them: 17 stars, because Ohio was the 17th state.
Step 10: Ground line
Draw a long flat ground line under the pole, from the left side to the right side.
Step 11: Yellow ball, grey pole
Colour the ball on top of the pole yellow and the pole grey.
Step 12: Red stripes
Colour the top, middle and bottom stripes red, and the middle of the O. Leave 2 stripes white.
Step 13: Blue triangle
Colour the triangle dark blue around the stars and the O. Leave them white. Go over your lines.
Tip Your Ohio flag is flying!
