How to Draw Play Dough

11 steps · Medium · about 8 min

Draw play dough in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the lid.

Print

  1. Step 1: The lid

Above the middle draw a wide flat oval. From each end draw a short line down, stop a finger lower.

  2. Step 2: The tub

Start just under the lid on each side. Draw a line straight down, stop near the bottom. Join them.

  3. Step 3: Two big eyes

On the tub draw 2 big round eyes side by side, each with a big black dot and 2 shines.

  4. Step 4: Smile and cheeks

Under the eyes draw a wide smile, and a small oval cheek on each side.

  5. Step 5: Dough worm

Next to the tub, at the bottom, draw a fat wiggly worm with round ends.

Tip Rolling a worm is the first thing everyone makes.

  6. Step 6: Dough ball

Behind the end of the worm draw a round ball of dough with a tiny curved shine on it.

  7. Step 7: Star on the lid

On the lid draw a little 4-point star.

  8. Step 8: The ground

Draw a flat ground line under the tub, worm and ball. Start left of the tub, stop past the ball.

  9. Step 9: Pink cheeks

Colour the 2 cheeks pink. Leave the little star on the lid white.

  10. Step 10: Yellow tub, blue lid

Colour the tub yellow around the eyes and cheeks, and the lid blue around the star. Leave the eyes white.

  11. Step 11: Red worm, green ball

Colour the worm red and the ball green. Go over your lines, and your play dough is ready!
