How to Draw a Tomato
Draw a tomato in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the tomato.
Step 1: The tomato
In the middle of your paper draw a big round as big as your fist, with a dip on top.
Tip Plump like a ball someone sat on a little.
Step 2: The leafy star
On top of the tomato, over the dip, draw a leafy star with 5 soft points fanning out.
Tip The leafy star is the tomato's hat.
Step 3: The stem
From the middle of the star draw a short stem, 2 lines close together, poking up above the points.
Step 4: A shine
Inside the left side of the tomato draw a thin oval sliver for a shine, near the edge.
Step 5: A slice
Low on the right, in front of the tomato, draw a round slice with a second round just inside.
Tip The slice sits in front, so the tomato hides behind it.
Step 6: Inside the slice
Inside the inner round draw 4 bean-shaped seed pockets along its edge, with gaps between them.
Step 7: The ground
Draw a ground line under the tomato and the slice, just touching their bottoms, out past both sides.
Step 8: Cream pockets
Go over your lines, then colour the 4 seed pockets cream.
Step 9: Red tomato
Colour the tomato and the slice red, around the cream pockets. Leave the shine white.
Step 10: Green star
Colour the leafy star and the stem green.

Your finished drawing
