How to Draw an Avocado

10 steps · Medium · about 8 min

Draw an avocado in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: half an avocado.

Print

  1. Step 1: Half an avocado

In the middle of your paper, a little right, draw a big pear shape. Small round top, big round bottom.

Tip Make the round bottom much bigger than the top.

  2. Step 2: The flesh

Inside it, draw a second pear shape a finger inside the first, all the way round.

  3. Step 3: The pit

In the big round bottom, draw a big round pit as big as a plum.

  4. Step 4: A whole avocado

Draw an egg, thin end up, peeking out behind the left of the half. Start and stop on the half.

  5. Step 5: A tiny stem

Draw a tiny stem on the top tip of the whole avocado. Start and stop on the skin.

  6. Step 6: Shines

Draw a thin oval shine inside the left side of the whole avocado. Add a tiny one on the pit.

  7. Step 7: The ground

Draw a ground line under both avocados, just touching the bottom of the half.

Tip Do not draw through the avocados.

  8. Step 8: Yellow flesh

Colour the flesh of the half yellow.

  9. Step 9: Brown pit and stem

Colour the pit and the tiny stem brown, leaving the pit's shine white.

  10. Step 10: Green skins

Go over your lines. Colour the skin of both avocados dark green around the stem, leaving the shine white.
