How to Draw a Toga

Step 1: The head

Near the top of the paper draw an egg for the head, a little narrower at the chin.

Tip Leave most of the page below for the long toga.

Step 2: The face

Draw 2 round eyes halfway down the head, each with a black dot. Add a U nose and a smile.

Step 3: Neck and robe

From the chin draw 2 neck lines down to a long robe with short sleeves and a wavy hem.

Tip Both sides of the robe match, like a bell with sleeves.

Step 4: Arms and hands

From each sleeve draw an arm hanging down, narrower at the wrist, ending in a round mitten hand.

Tip Give each hand a little thumb bump pointing in.

Step 5: The hair

Draw hair over the top from the left side to the right, curving back for the fringe.

Tip The fringe dips lowest at the sides.

Step 6: Leaf crown

Draw a thin band across the forehead, side to side. Add 2 oval leaves on each side, leaning out.

Step 7: Toga border

Start on the right shoulder by the neck. Draw 2 lines close together, slanting down to the left side.

Tip This band is the edge of the big cloth.

Step 8: Draped cloth

Start under the right sleeve. Draw a sagging line to the left hip. Add a fold line above it.

Tip The fold runs from the right shoulder to the left side.

Step 9: Hem band

Just above the wavy hem draw a matching wavy line from the left side to the right side.

Step 10: Long folds

Start on the sagging line. Draw 3 long fold lines down the skirt, stopping on the hem band.

Step 11: Sandals and ground

Under the hem draw 2 sandals peeking out, toes pointing out. Draw a long ground line under them.

Step 12: Peach skin

Go over your lines. Colour the face, neck, arms and hands peach. Leave the eyes and the toga white.

Step 13: Purple border

Colour the slanting border and the hem band purple.

Step 14: Green leaves, brown hair

Colour the leaves and their band green. Colour the hair and sandals brown. Your toga is done!
