How to Draw a Tiger Sitting
Draw a tiger sitting in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: big soft head.
Step 1: Big soft head
Near the top draw a big soft head, wider than tall, with round cheeks and a flat top.
Tip Leave room below for the body.
Step 2: Round ears
On each top corner of the head draw a round ear with a curve inside. The left ear is smaller.
Step 3: Big eyes
On the middle of the head, a little to the left, draw 2 big oval eyes with black dots.
Tip Leave the eyes white. Add a tiny shine in each.
Step 4: Snout and smile
Under the left eye draw a round snout poking past the cheek. Add a black nose and a W smile.
Step 5: Chest and back
Draw the chest down from the chin to a small paw. Draw the back curving down, then join them.
Tip The tiger sits up tall, so the back slopes like a slide.
Step 6: Front leg
Draw the ground. From under the head draw a straight leg down to a plump paw and back up.
Step 7: Back leg
Draw a long paw on the ground. Start on it and draw a round thigh up, over to the back.
Step 8: Toes
Draw 2 short toe lines on the front paw and on the back paw. Draw 1 on the small paw.
Step 9: Curled tail
From the bottom of the back draw a thick tail along the ground that curls up to a round tip.
Step 10: Body stripes
Draw 4 black stripes pointing in from the back and 2 short ones on the front leg.
Tip Each stripe is a thin triangle that starts on the outline.
Step 11: Head and tail stripes
Hang 3 stripes from the top of the head. Add 2 cheek stripes, 2 tail rings and a black tip.
Step 12: Cream and peach
Colour the snout cream and the inside of each ear peach.
Step 13: Colour it orange
Colour the tiger orange, around the stripes, snout and ear middles. Leave the eyes white.
