How to Draw a Thresher Shark
Draw a thresher shark in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the snout.
Step 1: The snout
On the left draw a big C for the snout. Start high, bulge out to a nose and stop lower.
Step 2: One huge eye
Behind the nose draw one huge round eye. Fill most of it with a black dot. Leave a white shine.
Step 3: Back and fin
Start at the snout top. Draw the back up into a tall fin, then down to a thin neck.
Tip Stop in the middle: the tail needs the whole right half.
Step 4: Giant whip tail
Start at the neck. Swing one long curve up to the top right corner, then back down to the neck.
Tip The top of the tail is as long as the whole body!
Step 5: Round tummy
Start at the chin. Draw a round tummy sagging under the body, then curve up to the tail neck.
Step 6: Small mouth
Start inside the snout near the nose. Draw a small smile curling back and stop under the eye.
Tip A thresher's mouth is small. No big teeth needed.
Step 7: Gills
Just behind the eye draw 3 short curves side by side, like ) ) ). The middle one is tallest.
Step 8: Tummy stripe
Start on the nose below the smile. Draw one long gentle curve along the side and stop near the neck.
Step 9: Side fins
Draw a long fin from the stripe to a point. Curve a tummy fin from the tummy down to it.
Step 10: Bubbles
In front of the nose draw 3 bubbles floating up: small, bigger, biggest.
Step 11: Cream tummy
Colour the tummy under the stripe cream, around the side fin. Colour the bubbles light blue.
Step 12: Colour the top blue
Colour everything above the stripe blue, around the eye, and both fins underneath. Leave the eye white.
