How to Draw a Polar Bear
Draw a polar bear in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the head.
Step 1: The head
Near the top of your paper draw a big egg head on its side, with fat round cheeks.
Tip Almost half the bear. The top and chin are narrower than the cheeks.
Step 2: Small round ears
Start on the head line near the top. Draw a small rainbow ear, stopping back on the line. Do both.
Tip Keep the ears small and low on the sides: a polar bear has little ears.
Step 3: Two big eyes
Across the middle of the head draw 2 big round eyes, close together, with big black dots.
Tip Leave a small white speck near the top of each dot.
Step 4: Long snout
Under the eyes draw a big egg snout, narrow at the top, hanging below the chin. Add a black nose.
Tip A polar bear has a long face. Rub out the chin line inside.
Step 5: Smile and tongue
Draw a line down from the nose. Start a W smile below its left edge, stop below its right edge.
Tip Hang a U tongue under the smile: start on the left curve, stop on the right.
Step 6: Round belly
Start under the left cheek. Draw a big pear body down and round, back up to the right cheek.
Tip Narrower than the head, widest low down, with a flat bottom.
Step 7: Front legs
From the body line under each cheek, draw a fat leg down to a round paw. Stop under the snout.
Tip Wide at the shoulder, thin at the wrist. The paw is wider and sits flat on the bottom line.
Step 8: Paw toes
On each front paw draw 2 short toe lines up from the bottom.
Step 9: Back legs and feet
On each side of the belly draw a round C leg. Under it draw a flat foot with 3 toes.
Tip The leg pokes out past the body. The foot is a flat loaf.
Step 10: Snow bank
Under the feet draw a long snow bank: a straight top line, round ends and a flat bottom.
Tip A finger wider than the feet on each side. The bear sits right on top.
Step 11: White fur
Go over your lines. Colour the head, ears, body, legs and feet white, around the snout. Leave the eyes white.
Step 12: Cream snout, pink tongue
Colour the snout cream and the tongue pink.
Step 13: Pale blue snow
Colour the snow bank pale blue, right up to its lines.
