How to Draw a Three-Legged Race
Draw a three-legged race in 12 steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: 2 heads.
Step 1: 2 heads
Draw 2 egg heads close together near the top, one left of middle and one right. Leave room below.
Tip Both kids are the same size at the same height.
Step 2: Faces
Give each head 2 eyes, a nose and a smile. Add C ears that start and stop on the head.
Step 3: Cap and hair
On the left head draw a cap with a curved brim. On the right head draw hair with a fringe.
Step 4: Necks and T-shirts
Start under each chin with 2 neck lines. Draw a T-shirt with short sleeves, and stop at the other neck.
Tip The right T-shirt sits in front. Add 2 stripe lines across the left T-shirt.
Step 5: Arms
Start at each outside sleeve. Draw an arm hanging down, getting thinner. Stop below the T-shirt.
Step 6: Hands
Start at each wrist and draw a mitten hand with a thumb bump. Stop back on the arm.
Step 7: Shorts and legs
Start at each T-shirt hem and draw shorts. Under each leg draw 2 lines getting thinner, stopping at the ankle.
Tip The 2 inside legs lean in to stand side by side.
Step 8: Band, sneakers, ground
Round both inside legs draw a band with a bow. Add a sneaker under each leg, then a ground line.
Step 9: Peach skin
Colour the faces, necks, ears, arms, hands and legs peach, with pink cheeks. Leave the eyes white.
Step 10: Yellow and sky shirts
Colour the left T-shirt yellow above and below the stripe, and the right T-shirt sky blue.
Step 11: Red cap, blue shorts
Colour the cap, the stripe, the band and the bow red. Colour both pairs of shorts blue.
Step 12: Black hair
Colour the right kid's hair black. Leave the sneakers white. Go over your lines. Done!
