How to Draw a Banker

Step 1: The head

Near the top of your paper draw an egg for the head, a little narrower at the chin.

Tip Leave most of the page below for the body and counter.

Step 2: Face and glasses

Draw 2 small oval eyes, a tiny nose, a smile and eyebrows. Add a round glasses lens round each eye.

Step 3: Curly hair

Start by the left eyebrow. Draw round hair tufts over the head, stopping by the right eyebrow. Add a hairline.

Step 4: Neck and jacket

Start 2 neck lines under the chin. Slope the shoulders out, curve in, draw the sides down and join them.

Step 5: Lapels and tie

Slant a lapel from each neck line down to a V on the chest. Hang a pointed tie between them.

Step 6: Long sleeves

From each shoulder draw a sleeve down to the wrist, bending the left one across the tummy.

Tip Rub out the jacket lines inside the sleeves.

Step 7: Hands

On the left wrist draw a round fist with a thumb line. On the right, a hand hanging down.

Tip Rub out the jacket lines inside the hands.

Step 8: Gold coin

Above the left fist draw a big round coin, its bottom tucked behind the fingers. Add a smaller circle inside.

Tip Rub out the jacket line inside the coin.

Step 9: Counter and ground

Draw a long flat counter across at tummy height. From each end draw a line down to the ground.

Tip The counter hides the legs, so there are none to draw.

Step 10: Coin stacks and notes

On the counter draw 3 coin stacks: flat ovals piled 3 high. Between them draw 2 flat boxes for banknotes.

Step 11: Peach skin, pink cheeks

Colour the face, neck and hands peach, with a pink circle on each cheek.

Tip Leave the eyes white.

Step 12: Gold coins, wooden counter

Colour the big coin and all the stacked coins yellow, and the counter light wood brown. Leave the notes white.

Step 13: Navy suit, red tie

Colour the jacket navy around the coin, hands, notes and shirt, the hair black and the tie red. Done!
