How to Draw a Thanksgiving Card
Draw a Thanksgiving card in 14 easy steps, about 11 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the card front.
Step 1: The card front
A little left of the middle of your paper draw a tall box, taller than it is wide.
Step 2: The card opens
From the top right corner, slant a line up, then straight down, then flat back to the bottom corner.
Tip The slanted top makes the page look like it swings open towards you.
Step 3: The turkey's body
In the middle of the front draw a pear shape: a small round head on a bigger round tummy.
Tip Leave lots of room all round it for the feathers.
Step 4: The feather fan
Start at the turkey's left side. Draw a line out, then 5 big bumps. Stop at its right side.
Tip Make the 5 bumps the same size, like petals.
Step 5: Feather lines
Start at each dip between the bumps. Draw a line straight in and stop at the turkey.
Tip Each line splits 2 feathers apart. There are 4 lines.
Step 6: The face
On the head draw 2 round eyes with black dots, a pointed beak and a teardrop wattle under it.
Tip Keep the eyes close together, high up on the head.
Step 7: Two feet
Under the tummy draw 2 little oval feet peeking out. Draw a short line under them to stand on.
Step 8: Autumn leaves
On the inside page draw 2 leaves, pointed at both ends. Give each a short stem and a middle line.
Tip Tilt the 2 leaves different ways, as if they are falling.
Step 9: The ground
Start at each bottom corner of the card. Draw a ground line out towards the edge of your paper.
Step 10: Cream card front
Go over your lines. Colour the front of the card cream, all around the turkey.
Step 11: Yellow parts
Colour the middle feather, the beak, the 2 feet and the 2 leaves yellow.
Step 12: Orange feathers
Colour the 2 feathers beside the yellow one orange. Colour the inside page orange, around the leaves.
Step 13: Red feathers
Colour the 2 outside feathers red. Colour the wattle under the beak red too.
Step 14: Brown turkey
Colour the turkey's head and tummy brown. Leave the eyes white. Happy Thanksgiving!
