How to Draw a Bookmark
Draw a bookmark in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the bookmark.
Step 1: The bookmark
In the middle draw a tall thin strip, 4 times as tall as wide, with a V notch underneath.
Tip The notch makes it look like a ribbon's end.
Step 2: A happy face
Near the top of the strip draw 2 big round eyes, and a small U smile under them.
Step 3: Hole and string
Above the eyes draw a small hole. From it draw a string up over the top, down to the right.
Step 4: The tassel
Where the loop ends draw a tassel beside the strip: a long narrow bundle, wider at the bottom.
Step 5: Rosy cheeks
Draw a tiny oval cheek out beside each end of the smile.
Step 6: A heart
Below the face draw a little heart in the middle of the strip: 2 bumps on top, a point below.
Step 7: Star and heart
Under the heart draw a little star, and under the star another little heart, all spaced evenly down the strip.
Step 8: Two stripes
Between the hole and the eyes draw 2 lines across the strip, edge to edge, close together, for a stripe.
Step 9: Sparkles
Draw 2 sparkle stars beside the bookmark, one on each side: 4 dots like a plus, joined by dipping curves.
Step 10: Tassel, star and cheeks
Colour the star, the tassel and the 2 sparkles yellow, and the cheeks peach.
Step 11: Stripe and hearts
Colour the stripe sky blue and the 2 hearts red.
Step 12: Purple bookmark
Colour the bookmark purple, around the cheeks, hearts, star and stripe. Leave the eyes and the hole white. Done!
