How to Draw a Test Tube
Draw a test tube in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the tube.
Step 1: The tube
Start near the top. Draw a long straight tube down, round a U bottom, and back up to the top.
Tip Keep both sides straight up and down, the same distance apart.
Step 2: The rim
Start at the top left. Draw a little rim that steps out, across and back in to the top right.
Step 3: A happy face
Low in the tube, draw 2 big round eyes with black dots. Under them, draw a U smile.
Step 4: The liquid line
Halfway down the tube, start on the left side. Draw a flat line across to the right side.
Tip Keep it flat, like water in a glass.
Step 5: Bubbles inside
Just under the liquid line, draw 3 small round bubbles, above the eyes.
Step 6: Rosy cheeks
At each end of the smile, lightly draw a small oval for a cheek.
Step 7: Bubbles escaping
Above the rim, draw 3 bubbles rising out of the tube, getting smaller as they go up.
Step 8: A shine
Start just under the rim, inside the left side. Draw a short line down, stopping well above the liquid.
Step 9: Pale glass
Colour the empty glass above the liquid very light blue, right up to the rim.
Step 10: Pink cheeks
Colour the cheeks pink, then rub out their light pencil lines.
Step 11: Green liquid
Colour the liquid green around the pink cheeks. Leave the eyes and bubbles white. Your test tube is done!
