How to Draw a Terracotta Warrior
Draw a terracotta warrior in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the head.
Step 1: The head
Near the top of your paper draw an egg for the head, a little narrower at the chin.
Tip Leave most of the page below for the body and legs.
Step 2: Face and moustache
Draw 2 oval eyes and a tiny U nose. Under it add a bow moustache, and a small smile below.
Step 3: Hair and topknot
Draw hair over the top of the head and a fringe across the forehead. Add a round bun top right.
Step 4: Neck and long coat
Draw 2 neck lines. From the left one draw a long coat with short sleeves, round to the right one.
Tip The coat hangs down past the hips.
Step 5: Armour vest
Draw a vest hanging from the shoulders, round at the bottom. Fill it with 3 rows of plates, like bricks.
Step 6: Long sleeves
Draw a long sleeve from each short sleeve down to the wrist, bent at the elbow, and a cuff.
Step 7: Mitten hands
Under each sleeve draw a mitten, round like the bottom of an egg, with a little thumb bump pointing in.
Step 8: Trousers, shoes and ground
From the hem draw 2 trouser legs down to the ankles. Add a shoe under each and a ground line.
Step 9: Clay face and hands
Colour the face, neck and hands a light clay tan, around the moustache. Leave the eyes white.
Step 10: Clay-orange coat
The warrior is a clay statue, so colour the coat, vest, sleeves and trousers clay orange.
Step 11: Brown hair and shoes
Colour the hair, the topknot, the moustache and the shoes brown. Your terracotta warrior is done!

Your finished drawing
Follow the steps above and this is where you end up: a terracotta warrior, drawn by you.
