How to Draw a Person from Behind
Draw a person from behind in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the head.
Step 1: The head
Near the top of your paper draw a round head, a little taller than it is wide.
Tip Leave most of the page below for the body and legs.
Step 2: Hair from behind
No face here! Start at the head's bottom left, draw tufts over the top, stop at the bottom right.
Tip Join the ends with a nearly flat line, then rub out the head line inside the hair.
Step 3: Ears
On each side draw a C ear: start at the hair, bulge out, stop at the hair.
Step 4: Neck and T-shirt
Draw 2 neck lines. Start at the left one, draw a boxy T-shirt with short sleeves, stop at the right.
Step 5: Arms
Start at each sleeve and draw 2 lines down for the arm, closer together at the wrist. Stop there.
Step 6: Mitten hands
On each arm, start at one line, draw a round mitten with a thumb, stop at the other line.
Step 7: Trousers
Start at the bottom left corner of the T-shirt. Draw 2 long trouser legs and stop at the right corner.
Tip The legs reach nearly to the bottom of the page.
Step 8: Shoe heels
Under each trouser leg draw a rounded block a little wider than the leg, with a curve across it.
Step 9: Ground
Draw a long line across under the shoes for the ground.
Step 10: Peach skin
Colour the neck under the hair, the ears, the arms and the hands peach.
Step 11: Green shirt, blue trousers
Colour the T-shirt green and the trousers blue.
Step 12: Brown hair and shoes
Colour the hair and the shoes brown. Go over your lines and your person from behind is done.

Your finished drawing
Follow the steps above and this is where you end up: a person from behind, drawn by you.
