How to Draw a Flying Fairy
Draw a flying fairy in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: egg head.
Step 1: Egg head
Near the top, in the middle, draw an egg for the head, narrower at the chin.
Tip Leave room either side for the wings and arms; she floats above the ground.
Step 2: Face and pointed ears
Draw 2 eyes, a nose and a smile. From each side, draw a pointy ear out, back to the head.
Step 3: Hair, fringe and bun
Draw the hair over the head, side to side, with a curved fringe. Add a round bun on top.
Step 4: Neck and dress
Draw 2 neck lines. From the left one, draw a petal-hem dress with puff sleeves, ending at the right one.
Step 5: Big wings
Behind each shoulder, draw a big wing swept up and out, with a rounded top and a smaller lower lobe.
Step 6: Arms reaching out
From each sleeve, draw a soft arm reaching out and up, a little wider at the shoulder than the wrist.
Step 7: Hands and wand
Draw a mitten hand with a thumb on each arm. From the right one, draw a wand to a star.
Step 8: Legs trailing back
Under the hem, draw a leg bent back to the left, the other peeking above it. Add 2 pointed slippers.
Step 9: Sparkle
Left of the slippers, draw a little sparkle: a star with 4 thin curved points.
Step 10: Grass and ground
Draw a long ground line near the bottom. On the right, draw 3 soft grass blades leaning apart.
Step 11: Peach skin
Colour the face, ears, neck, arms, hands and legs peach. Leave 2 cheek spots and the eyes white.
Step 12: Yellow hair, pink dress
Colour the hair, bun, star and sparkle yellow. Colour the dress, slippers and cheek spots pink.
Step 13: Sky-blue wings
Go over your lines. Colour the wings sky blue, around the arms, hands and dress. All done!
