How to Draw a Tent

10 steps · Medium · about 8 min

Draw a tent in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the tent.

Print

  1. Step 1: The tent

Near the top, draw a tall triangle tent: down to the right, across the bottom, back up to the point.

  2. Step 2: The open door

From the point, draw 2 curved lines down to the bottom, one each side of the middle.

  3. Step 3: The pole

From the point, draw a short pole straight up, stopping at a round knob.

  4. Step 4: The flag

Just under the knob, draw a little pointy flag out to the right and back to the pole.

  5. Step 5: The ground

From each bottom corner of the tent, draw the ground line out, stopping just before the edge of the paper.

  6. Step 6: Two pegs

A little way out from each bottom corner, draw a short peg standing on the ground.

  7. Step 7: The ropes

Low on each side, start on the tent edge and draw a rope out and down, stopping on the peg.

  8. Step 8: Yellow flag

Go over your lines. Colour the flag and the knob on the pole yellow.

  9. Step 9: Orange tent, dark doorway

Colour the tent orange and the doorway slate grey, because it is dark inside.

  10. Step 10: Brown pegs

Colour the pegs brown, and your tent is done!
