How to Draw a Teacher and Student

Step 1: Teacher's head

On the left, near the top, draw an egg for the teacher's head, a little narrower at the chin.

Tip Leave room above it for her hair, and lots of room on the right.

Step 2: Glasses and smile

Draw 2 round glasses joined by a little bridge. Put a dot eye in each one. Add a big smile.

Step 3: Hair and bun

Draw hair over the top of the head, with a curved fringe. Add a round bun on top.

Step 4: Dress

Under the chin draw a dress with 2 short sleeves. It gets wider down to a curved hem.

Tip Make both sides match.

Step 5: Arms and hands

From each sleeve draw an arm down to a round hand, then back up to the sleeve.

Tip The arm bends a little at the elbow. The hand is rounder than the wrist.

Step 6: Legs and shoes

From the hem draw 2 legs down to 2 black shoes. Draw a long ground line under them.

Step 7: Child's head

On the right, lower down, draw a round head for the child. Add short hair with a bumpy fringe.

Tip The child's head is nearly as big as the teacher's, but much lower.

Step 8: Child's face

Draw 2 big dot eyes with a tiny shine in each, and a big smile.

Step 9: Shirt and trousers

Under the chin draw a T-shirt with 2 short sleeves. Under it draw trousers with 2 legs.

Step 10: Arms and shoes

From each sleeve draw a short arm down to a round hand and back up. Add 2 black shoes.

Step 11: Board and sum

Behind the child draw a big board with a frame, on 2 legs. Write 1 + 1 = 2.

Tip The board hides behind the child's head.

Step 12: Skin and shirt

Go over your lines. Colour both faces, the arms, hands and legs peach. Colour the child's shirt yellow.

Step 13: Hair, dress and trousers

Colour both heads of hair and the board's frame and legs brown. Colour the dress and the trousers blue.

Step 14: Green board

Colour the board green, around the sum. Your teacher and student are done!
