How to Draw Five Senses

14 steps · Medium · about 11 min

Draw five senses in 14 easy steps, about 11 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: five boxes.

Print

  1. Step 1: Five boxes

Draw a big box with a line across the middle. Split the top into 3 boxes, the bottom into 2.

Tip One box for each of your 5 senses.

  2. Step 2: An eye shape

In the first box, draw an eye: a curved line over the top and one under, with pointed ends.

Tip We see with our eyes.

  3. Step 3: The iris

In the middle of the eye, draw a big circle that almost touches the top and bottom.

  4. Step 4: The pupil

In the middle of the circle, colour a black dot. Leave a little white shine in it.

  5. Step 5: An ear

In the next box, draw an ear: a tall rounded shape, wide at the top, with a small lobe.

Tip We hear with our ears.

  6. Step 6: Inside the ear

Start on the front edge of the ear. Draw a curl like a question mark and stop in the middle.

  7. Step 7: A nose

In the third box, start at the top. Go down, round a wing, under the tip, up to the top.

Tip We smell with our noses. Both sides match: a wing, the round tip, a wing.

  8. Step 8: Nostrils

On each side of the round tip, colour a small black oval for a nostril.

  9. Step 9: Lips

In the bottom left box, draw wide lips: 2 bumps on top, a big curve below, a smile line between.

  10. Step 10: The tongue

Hang a U tongue from the smile line, back to the line. Rub out the lip line inside it.

Tip We taste with our tongues. Add a short line down the middle.

  11. Step 11: Palm and thumb

Start with a thumb on the left. Curve a round palm under, up to the right. Add 2 wrist lines.

Tip The wrist lines go down to the bottom of the box.

  12. Step 12: Four fingers

From the thumb side, draw 4 plump fingers with round tips in one line, across to the right side.

Tip We touch with our hands. Count: 4 fingers and a thumb make 5!

  13. Step 13: Peach and blue

Colour the ear, the nose, the hand and the wrist peach. Colour the ring round the black dot blue.

  14. Step 14: Pink and red

Go over your lines. Colour the tongue pink and the lips red, around the tongue. Leave the eye white.
