How to Draw a Teacup

10 steps · Medium · about 8 min

Draw a teacup in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the rim.

Print

  1. Step 1: The rim

Above the middle of your paper draw a wide flat oval, a hand across. Draw a smaller oval inside it.

  2. Step 2: The cup

From the oval's left end, curve down like a bowl, across the bottom and up to its right end.

  3. Step 3: Two big eyes

On the front of the cup draw 2 big egg eyes. Add a big black dot in each.

  4. Step 4: The handle

On the right draw a fat C handle, from under the rim back to the cup well above its bottom.

  5. Step 5: Smile and cheeks

Under the eyes draw a wide U smile. Add a small flat cheek under the outside of each eye.

  6. Step 6: The saucer

Draw a big flat oval saucer behind and under the cup, so the cup sits in its middle.

  7. Step 7: Steam and table

Above the rim draw 2 wiggly steam lines. From the saucer's bottom, draw a table line out to each side.

  8. Step 8: Pink cup

Colour the cup and its handle pink, around the eyes and cheeks. Leave the eyes white.

  9. Step 9: Tan tea

Colour the tea inside the rim tan.

  10. Step 10: Sky saucer, red cheeks

Colour the cheeks red and the saucer sky blue around the cup, and your teacup is done!
